OCEAN K-12 School operates three programs: OCEAN K-12 Family Partnership Program, the Online Program, and Open Doors. Students enrolled in these program are enrolled in the OCEAN K-12 School in the Port Townsend School District.
OCEAN (Opportunity, Community, Experience, Academics, Navigation) K-12 Family Partnership Program is an independent study Alternative Learning Experience program for students in grade K-12 supported with classroom, experiential and expeditionary experiences, and connections with families and the community.
The OCEAN Online Program is an Alternative Learning Experience program that provides options for students in grades 6-12 who choose to learn independently online. The profile of a successful online student includes the ability to work independently, persevere, ask for help, have a sustained daily commitment, have organizational skills, and time management skills.
The OCEAN Open Doors Program is for students ages 16-21 who are not on track for completing high school on time. The career pathway program is a partnership with OCEAN and Owl 360. Students can work towards career readiness goals and/or completion of a high school diploma.
OCEAN School FPP and Online Program are Alternative Learning Experience per WAC 392-121182 / WAC 392-550. Open Doors Youth Reengagement (WAC 392-700) is a reengagement system that provides education and services to older youth, ages 16-21, who have dropped out of school or are not expected to graduate from high school by the age of 21.
